Who needs a meal plan?
If you live in a residence hall, you must choose a meal plan. The cost of your meal plan is included in your Room and Board Contract along with your housing charges.
How do meal plans work?
The University will provide you with a student ID card. When you make a food purchase at any campus dining location, the cashier simply scans your student ID card. The meal used, or the purchase amount is deducted from your account balance.
How do I know how many meals I have left for the week?
The cashier can scan your student ID card to find out how many meals you have left for the week.
How do I check my Laker Bucks balance?
You may ask the cashier to scan your student ID card to find out your Laker Bucks Balance at any Dining Services location.
How do I change my meal plan?
If the meal plan you initially chose is not the one you want, you may change your meal plan once during each semester.
Can I treat a guest to a meal?
You may treat a guest using laker bucks or if you are on a block plan. With the new meal plans you may use them plan to swipe a guest with one of the guest meal swipes that comes with the plan, the owner of the meal plan must be present in order for guest swipes to be used. Please keep in mind that the weekly number of meals does not reset until Sunday each week.
